About the Craft : The art of wood carving and burnishing is made from locally sourced hand-cut wood pieces. A jigsaw is used to cut the base, which is then turned on a lathe and shaped. The final wooden base is etched using hot iron rods to create various patterns and designs. Artisans combine wood with other unusual materials, such as thread and metal, to create a variety of products.
About the Artisan: Veer Singh is a master artisan based in Delhi NCR, who has been practising the craft of wood carving and burnishing for over 20 years. He operates out of his home-based workshop with his family and creates complete hand-carved wooden products. He is known for his cute wooden birds and also makes key chains, toys, coasters, wind chimes, and other home accessories. Veer’s passion for his craft is evident in the intricate detailing and finesse of his creations.
