Description
About the Craft and Artisan : Bijnor district is one of the most important centers of woodcarving in the country. The tradition of woodcarving in this district can be traced back to the Mughal era. The craftspeople here specialise in carving wooden combs, toys, bangles, jewellery, key chains, trinket boxes, walking sticks and furniture. The most common types of wood used are sheesham, mango and babool.
