About the Artist :: Pratima, a mother of three children hails from Darbhanga, Bihar and belongs to a family of Madhubani artists. Initiated from an early age into Madhubani painting, she married a fellow artist D.K Bharti, and both have evolved a very distinctive style where moderns lines and geometric figures meet the traditional patterns of Madhubani art. Since she received public recognition through her first exhibition in Delhi in 2001, Pratima has never looked back.
Pratima is the recipient of the State award for outstanding artisans of Delhi, India.
