About the Craft: The monsoon grass ‘Moonj’, which is the outer layer of the grass, is harvested during winter months, and let out to dry which results in a much lighter colour. The iconic bright colours of the basket are achieved via natural pigments. They are made to boil on high temperatures with water for the grass to soak in. Moonj Baskets are a great replacement for the run-of-the-mill plastic baskets due to their vibrant colours and environmental benefits.
